The URM-3 is a radio modem that allows the camera to com-
municate with the Wireless Main Units WMU-3 or WMU-2.
The URM-3 contains the same smaller and lighter radio
modem that can be found in the WMU-3, and it can attach
directly to a 435 Xtreme or to a Universal Motor Controller
(UMC-1).

The snap-on WBU-3 uses modern Lithium-Ion battery
technology to provide the longest running times. Our goal
was to have a basic system operate a full day on one battery.
Tests have shown that a Wireless Main Unit (WMU-3)
equipped with a Wireless Focus Unit (WFU-3) can run up to
16 hours on one battery, which should be enough even for the
most ambitious shooting day. And even if you don’t know
how long your day will be, you will know when to change
batteries through the new 5 step battery capacity display.

The WZU-3 is used to control zoom. It can be sandwiched
between the WMU-3 and the WFU-3, thus taking up a
minimal amount of space. Zoom speed can be adjusted and
zoom limits can be quickly set.

The heart of the system is the WMU-3. It accepts the hand
controllers for focus, zoom, iris, camera control and the Lens
Data Display for Focus Puller (LDD-FP), and it communi-
cates with the camera side radio. To ensure that the contact
between camera and assistant is not interrupted, the new
radio modem inside the WMU-3 has a more robust transmis-
sion. The WMU-3 is tiny and very comfortable in the hand,
helped also by the ergonomic hand strap.

The WFU-3 is used to control focus and/or iris. Focus and
iris can be assigned freely to hand wheel and slider, and
electronic lens and knob limits can be easily set. In addition
it is possible to set mechanical knob limits. The movable
index marker is especially useful when the WFU-3 is held at
different angles or swapped between hands.

The WEB-3 attaches to the Wireless Main Unit (WMU-3),
and allows the use of two hand controllers attached to one
WMU-3 at the same time.

The WHA-3 is similar to the WHA-2: it allows hand cont-
rollers like the WFU-3, WZU-3 or WRC-1 to be connected
with a cable to an ARRICAM or 435 Xtreme. What differen-
tiates the WHA-3 is its ability to control focus tracking. As
long as a compatible distance measuring device and LDD-FP
are connected to the ARRICAMs or 435 Xtreme, pressing
the blue button on the side of the WHA-3 will set the focus
to the measured distance.
